Sometimes Moms are Silly

My mom and I didn't always see eye to eye when it came to wedding planning. I wanted to have icecream and brownies, and she didn't want to have desserts. She wanted to have something that diabetics could eat too. I thought that our reception was going to start late enough that people could go home from work and eat and then come to the reception and have desert, but ya know the saying mother knows best, and she insisted that we serve fruit as well. (I don't think that diabetic are suppose to eat fruit either, but don't tell her that!)

That wasn't the only thing that we disagreed on. We had a hard time picking out her dress. We finally decided that we would do black with pink or purple accents. The other day I went into her room and she had a really pretty black dress hanging up, but with it was a maroon jacket. I was hoping she was just wearing the dress without the jacket, but I knew that wasn't the case. I didn't want to hurt her feelings, but I am not sure why she thought maroon was purple or pink. I am pretty sure maroon is red, and that it clashes with both purple and pink. I know I know I am totally a bridezilla!

Bryce + a Gun = Bad Idea

I couldn't wait to register. I thought it would be so much fun. I usually have a Christmas list of things that I want by the beginning of November, but registering was a little more stressful. Bryce and I couldn't agree on where to register. I wanted to register at target and bed bath and beyond and he wanted to register at Wal-Mart. So we decided that we would register at Wal-Mart and Bed Bath and Beyond. We first went to Wal-Mart we had a hard time deciding on things that we wanted, so Bryce decided to register a Wii for us. Next we went to Bed Bath and Beyond. The girl helping us was hilarious, she was just one of those people that you couldn't help but to make fun of them. I might have called her half a person because she was an orphan, but that is besides the point. We came back with our list, it was only about a page long and she told us that we needed to register for way more things, so she gave Bryce the gun (a very bad idea) and she talked me into registering for some a china set. Maybe I'm a little vain, but I freaking loved the china set I felt like a little girl who wanted to have a tea party. It was a good time for me and think Bryce had a good time too. He turned our one paper into 5 papers. I asked him what he registered and he said, "everything that was under $20 dollars". I still wanted to register at Target, but Bryce said that he heard people say that they were really hard to work with, but I couldn't help it I went over to a Target on my lunch break and registered for a few more things. I am not sure if it is tacky or not to be registered at 3 different places, but I figure what do people care I'm just trying to give them more options.

Colored Shoes

So I am really in to a fun shoe, I love the bridals when they have a colored shoe. I'm not racist I just tells it like I sees it. So anyways I have been looking online and found some perfect purple shoes only they are over $100 dollars...um yeah I don't think so. I decided online is not the best place to go shoe shopping so I went to the mall and I found the perfect color and they are pretty cute too, plus my favorite thing about them is they are only $25 dollars. The only problem is that I am having a hard time not wearing them, so I finally broke down, I justified that I will need to break them in before my wedding day so they don't kill my feet. After I wore them I took them off in Bryce's room while we watched a movie, after a while I got a sick feeling in my stomach and I turned to Bryce and I said Where is Lucy? We found her right by my shoes and the heels were all torn up. Damn dog!!! Bryce claims that I kicked her, but I only nudged her with my foot away from my shoes...What would you do? At least I learned my lesson from a shoe, and actually they weren't torn up that bad, I'll still probably where them.

Engagements

I was hoping our moab trip would give us a nice tan for our engagements, but I think Bryce might have gotten a little red. I went to American Eagle and mals helped me pick out something cute to wear. I wanted something that coordinated, but nothing too matchy, this isn't sadies! I also wanted something that would be good for black and white pics and something that was in our colors. Lucky American eagle had tons of things in my purple! We have had a really rainy June and I was hoping that it wouldn't rain on our engagements, but it was looking pretty gray and it was really windy (just my luck). I wanted to do something moutainy and flowery, out doorsy, so my photographer suggested we go to the peace gardens. I hadn't been there before , but Bryce said that he thought I would like it. I may have been a little skeptical at first, but I loved the way then turned out. I thought he did a great job!!!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

For mutual we went to the oquirrh mountain temple open house. I invited Bryce to come too, just because I love the thought of going through the temple with him. I didn't think the temple on the outside was as pretty as some of the other temples, but the inside was gorgeous!!! I especially loved the brides room. I can't wait to go through the temple and receive my endowments and I especially can't wait and go through the temple and be sealed to Bryce for time and all eternity! I love the feelings of peace that the temple brings you cannot doubt that you are in the house of the Lord. I hope to make my home a house for the Lord so that when you are in it you can feel his presence. Driving back from the temple I was amazed as I looked over the valley and I could see 3 temples It reminded me of the quote from President Lorenzo Snow. When he was our prophet there were only 4 temple and all of them were in Utah. In 1899 he prophesied, "The time will come when there will be Temples established over every portion of the land." Elder Bruce R. McConkie that “the day will come when temples will dot the earth” and that “this final dispensation is now and in greater measure is yet to be the great era of … temple building” There are 130 temples and in at least 32 countries all over the world.
There are currently 13 temples operating in Utah and 2 under construction. They are: (going in order that they were built)
St. George, Logan, Manti, Salt Lake (It's 4th on the list because it took 40 years to complete), Ogden, Provo, Jordan River, Bountiful, Mount Timpanogos, Vernal, Monticello, Draper, and Oquirrh Mountain
Temples under construction currently are:
Brigham City, and Payson

I feel very blessed to live so close to so many temples. I hope someday that I will get to go inside all of the temples here in Utah!

Don't judge Bryce for his hair cut. I know he looks a little like a chia pet, but I am making him grow it out for the wedding!
