I started out going to college to be a math teacher (even though I still count on my fingers). After I got a math tutoring job I decided that maybe that wasn't for me after all. So then I decided to get into the PTA (physical therapy assistent). In Utah they only offer that program at SLCC so moved back home, found an aide job for a phisical therapist and enrolled in the SLCC PTA program, but after about 3 classes I realized that I hated the director of the program and that I didn't want to spend the next 3 years with her. At this point I was a little discouraged and so I took a few years off of school. Last semester I finally went back and took a few classes to finish up on my associates degree so that I could enroll at the U and major in family health and consumer science and minor in Family finances. I took a few classes and LOVED it!!! Everthing I learned was so applicable to life. I was really excited to be in a major that I loved and that I could use everyday even if I didn't make a career after it. Well once again my plans changed after Bryce proposed I dropped out of my summer classes because I didn't think that I would have the money or the time, and so for my final career choice I have chosen to become a statistic and. I am a little bummed about not being able to finish college, but maybe someday I will be able to go back even if I am a mom and I have a wheelie back pack! (all the mom's are carrying those these days. I guess if you are a mom at college that is the cool thing to do!)
Here are a few statistics for you:- In 2002 only 51% of the kids who graduate from High school also graduated from college with at least a Bachelors Degree. The numbers have been decreasing since then
- The average college student changes their major 3 times before they graduate
